Max and Miles who, to Me, Will Always be Secretly Named "Gus"

The blog about Max and his little brother, Miles. Stunningly cute boys and future leaders of the rebel forces.

Crank it Up Before we Go-Go

As previously noted, these kids really know how to break your heart before you abandon them for a day or so. Tomorrow, Katie and I drive to The North Dakota for my twenty (yes, my twenty) year high school reunion. Just to give you an idea of how old I am, at our ten year? A mere ten years ago? No one had a digital camera. Hell, I don't even remember seeing a cell phone. I am old.

Max and Miles have picked up on my feebleness and, like a leopard preying upon the oldest and slowest of the herd, they have twisted me around their proverbial pinkies with some blunt-force cute.

They're cool with us going as long as we come back with funny pictures of other, old and drunk people, a coat of dust and a pair of crippling hangovers. So, basically, they're cool with us going.

Love these boys.

Can You Explain This?

Good, 'cause I can't either.

Perhaps a Front Loader in Pink?

I'm not sure why, but, Katie keeps saying we need to have a girl. All I know is: front loaders are AWESOME!

Represent!

If you could somehow, through some serious luck, find an object that could neatly encapsulate, well, Katie, you should, uh, probably buy it. Better yet, if you don't even have to think about it; if Katie finds it, points at it, and says, "Buy that for me." You had better just cash that cheque de stimuloso and pony up the dough.

A few weekends ago, our supah-dupah homegirl, Kelli, came to town and we hit the big spring pottery tour. And, there, Katie and Kelli took me by the hand, dragged me over to above pot and kinda pushed my head down really close to it.

"Katie," Kelli said. "Has he gotten you anything for Mother's Day?"

"Why, no, Kelli. I don't think he has."

"Hmm."

"Yes: Hmm."

I can take hint, yo! So I got the pitcher for Katie. Of course, it helps that (no offense to all my pottery friends) it's the most beautiful damn thing ever made. A guy much smarter than me and waaay more sensitive, once said about a pot (not this one, but it might as well be) "It just breaks your heart, every time you look at it." This is one of those pots.

So, huge shout out to Kathryn Finnerty for saving my ass Mother's Day weekend!
